And one lucky winner could walk off with up to £30,000 and the chance to work direct with the UK Film Council and Virgin Media to shoot their next film.

Why are short films good for directors and film creators?

Short films are a starting point for new talent in the film making industry. It lets production companies see what talent is out there. It is good for directors to show off their talent, it gives them their big break. Spike Jonze, Joe Nussbaum, Alex Merkin and even high acclaimed director Martin Scorsese used short film to get himself recognised.
